Q

MDMA is not fully absorbed from the stomach into the bloodstream

A

Instead, the MDMA molecules get emptied from the stomach into the small intestine.

Thereafter, MDMA diffuses into the vascular system

Q

In the liver Cytochrome P450 specifically CYP2D6 initiated metabolic breakdown. However there are a complex array of different enzymes involved in metabolic action. Enzyme response is saturated and CYPD2D6 is not as abundant, therefore, increases of the drug can dramatically change levels of toxicity for individuals

Q

What is the speed of the elimination of MDMA from the body?

A

Moderately slow

Cmax half life is 8 hours (takes about 5 half lives to eliminate 95% of the drugs therefore it takes about 40 hours of MDMA to be cleared from the body
