Focal without loss of consciousness
Patient has a seizure in the temporal love and as a result displays abnormal activity. What kind of seizure?
Focal with altered mental status
Patient’s seizure causing her to see flashing lights but than evolves into tonic-clonic seizures with sustained contractions followed by rhythmic movements. The patient then proceeds to lose consciousness. What kind of seizure?
Secondary generalized
Patient has a sudden, brief interruption of consciousness. Patient has a blank stare, occasional lip smacking and rapid blinking. What kind of seizure?
Absence seizure or petit mal seizure
Patient has brief (1 second or less) muscle contraction occurring in individual muscles or generalized. What kind of seizure?
Myoclonic seizure
Patient has abrupt complete muscle contractions followed by repetitive movements. Then finally falls into inhibition and loss of consciousness. What kind of seizure?
Tonic - Clonic or Grand Mal seizure
