Tricyclic antidepressants side effects/OD
Tricyclic antidepressants have anticholinergic side effects. These include pupillary dilation (mydriasis), blurred vision, nausea and vomiting, dry skin, dry mouth, urinary retention, and constipation. Patients may also be tachycardic initially after overdose.
Treatment of Flu
Zanamivir is approved for the treatment of influenza in individuals 7 years or older, but is contraindicated in people with asthma due to its potential to induce bronchospasm.
Oseltamivir is effective against Influenza types A and B, and unlike other neuraminidase inhibitors, is not contraindcated in persons with asthma.
Rimantidin & Amantadine are approved to treat Influenza type A, but are not active against Influenza type B.
The most effective single therapy for patients with persistent and significant nasal symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis
Intranasal fluticasone- intranasal glucocorticoid spray.
