Q

How are perspective drawings classified?

A

According to the number of vanishing points that are used in a drawing, which in turn is determined by the inclination of the image to the picture plane.

Q

What is a two-point perspective?

A

When an object is situated so that its lies at an angle to the picture plane, then two vanishing points are required and the result is a two-point perspective.

Q

How do you find the vanishing points?

A

The vanishing points are always found on the HL by projecting off the SP, parallel to the sides of the object, then bouncing the projection lines off the PP to meet the HL at VPR and VPL.

Q

How do you determine the true height of a figure that is not in the picture plane?

A

The feature must first be projected to the picture plane where its height can be determined, then projected back to its relative place on the drawing.

Q

What is step 3 to create a horizontal arc or circle?

A

Join the divisions on the circumference of the arc to the SP.

17
Q

What is step 4 to create a horizontal arc or circle?

A

Draw in some reference lines for easier location of the arc.

18
Q

What is step 5 to create a horizontal arc or circle?

A

Drop verticals to meet the receding lines creating a grid.

19
Q

What is step 6 to create a horizontal arc or circle?

A

Use a drawing aid to join the points.

20
Q

What is step 7 to create a horizontal arc or circle?

A

Draw the arc.

21
Q

What is step 8 to create a horizontal arc or circle?

A

Add the centre lines.
