paranoid personality vs paranoid schizophrenia and delusional disorder
vs SZ: delusions are more logical and less bizarre, lacks other sx of SZ
vs DD: paranoia is much more generalized

pervasive detachment from social relationships and restricted emotional expression; little interest in sexual activities with others; finds pleasure in few activities; flattened affect and indifference to praise or criticism

acute discomfort and capacity for close relationships and eccentric behavior; magical thinking influences behavior; suspicious or paranoid; lack of close friends; excessive social anxiety even with familiarity d/t paranoia

unstable interpersonal relationships, self-image and affect, marked impulsivity; frantic effort to avoid abandonment; “splitting”; identity disturbance; self-mutilation; marked mood reactivity, difficulty controlling anger; stress-related paranoid ideation or dissociative symptoms; very manipulative with weaknesses
“splitting” in borderline personality
alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation of intense and unstable relationships
histrionic personality disorder
excessive emotionality and attention seeking; uncomfortable not being center of attention; interaction with others is inappropriately sexual; shallow and shifting emotions; uses appearance to gain attention; impressionistic speech; theatrical and exaggerated expressions; suggestible; considers relationships more intimate than they are
