A
- personality traits are based on biology
- psychological factors and individual differences related personality link to both the causes of crime and its control

neuroticism
A
- these traits are made up of a number of factors such as anxiousness, depression, feelings of guilt, low self esteem, irrationality
- neurotic extroverts are the most diifficult personality type to condition and find it diffiult to learn right from wrong
- someone high in neuroticism will be much more unstable, and prone to overreacting to stimuli and may be quick to worry anger or fear
- emotional and find it difficult to calm down once upset
- neurotic individuals have an ANS that responds quickly to stress

- characterized by lacking of empathy, being cruel, being a loner, aggressive and troublesome
- related to high levels of testosterone (high t = high p)

A
- extroverts are sociable and crave excitement and change, and thus can become bored easily.
- they tend to be carefree, optimistic, and impulsive
they are more likely to take risks and be thrill seekers - eysenck argues that this is because they inherit an underaroused nervous system and so seek stimulation to restore the level of optimum stimulation
