It refers to the conscious continuation of an act or an idea.

It is seen in the following conditions:-

Verbigeration refers to the meaningless repetition of words or phrases, not necessarily requiring external stimulus to elicit (as opposed to perseveration, which is an inappropriately persistent response to a stimulus).
