What are some of the common peripherals and is it an input, output device, storage or processing?
- Keyboards and Mice are input devices as keyboards enter numeric or text data and mice generates input by interacting with GUI.
- Monitor shows output from processing to the user.
- Speakers + Headsets generate output in the form of audio.
- Printers generate output by printing paper with data and information on it.
- Scanners scan paper documents and digitize them (input).
- Cameras enable capture real life visuals via still or video images (input) and convert it into digital data.
- Exetrnal Hard Drives are used in addition to internal storage within a computer.
What are some of the ways to install devices?
Ports and Cables, Software, Networks.
- Plug and PLay enables users to easily install devices and be configured automoatically; done by inserting a cable into a port (USB Connection, PS/2 Connection).
- Device drivers are software that enables an OS to communicate with peripherals. Done with drivers when installed manually.
- Shared devices are connected by using IP networks.
What is a firewire 400 and fire wire 800?
Is a type of cable designed by apple and is intended for different applications.
What is the one way to install peripherals wirelessly?
Bluetooth.
What is a VGA cable?
Is a legacy cable used for visual display of a very low resolution at 640 by 480.

- Is a cable used for visual display of up to 1080p.
Different types of DVI cables includes: - Dual Link DVI-I and Dual Link DVI - D
- DVI-A, Single Link DVI-I, Single Linke DVI-D

- Is a display cable that carries audio and video signals for home audio and video equipment. used in computers and tv’s; also supports high resolution up to 5K and beyond.

- Carry audio, video and power.
- Can run at the maximum resolutions today.
- Thunderbolt 1 and 2 is used in Mini Display Port and Newer versions 3 and 4 is used in USB-C Connectors.
- Thunderbolt is mostly commonly used in Apple Devices and offers better data transfer rate.
- Both cables can connect into same connectors.
