peripheral arterial disease
impairs blood flow in arteries of the leg.
Pain I cramping when walking.
Skin that appear shiny with hair loss
tingling and numbness of toes.
Peripheral venous disease.
varicose vein+ VTE
disorders that impairs blood flow to the heart.
- edema present
- brown discoloration
DVT and pulmonary embolism
manifestation- edema of affected leg
local swelling, bumpy, knotty
monitor Heparin (PTT)30-40 and warfarin ( PT)11-12.5
Raynaud’s disease
blood vessel in hands and feet
Overreact to cold or stress
- Coldness
- pain in the extremities
- pallor
medications
administer nifedipine
SHOCK
Inadequate delivery of 02 + nutrient to support vital organs + cell function.
Manifestation includes-tachycardia with hypotension
- tachypnea
- Oliguria( small urine)
- metabolic acidosis
- Decreased level of consciousness
Intervention
Position pt in tredelenberg
Secure a large IV line.
Administer oxygen
