Humans have been dancing to express themselves and there are many types of dance we know today. Each form of dance has its own style, but all of them are united by their common goal of artistic expression and the celebration of the human body.
abstraction
is an art of dancing that is composed of series of dance steps and movements to create story. It is integrated with both dance and music.
Choreography
is one who creates choreographies by practicing the art of choreography, a process known as choreographing.

is used in a variety of fields, including musical theater, cheerleading, cinematography, gymnastics, fashion shows, ice skating, marching band, show choir, theatre, synchronized swimming, artistry, video game production and animated art. applies to human movement and form.
Choreography
are social dances that portray the beliefs, interests, habits, customs and practices of the native. Examples are Singkil of Maranao and Pangalay of Tausug - Dances from Mindanao, Pandango sa Ilaw and Itik-itik.
Folk Dance/Ethnic Dance
is a very unique Philippines traditional dance of the Maranao people in Southern Philippines. It is said to be inspired by the age-old Hindu epic “Ramayana” and another mythological epic from South East Asia called “Darangen“
Singkil
is the sobriquet given to a South East Asian dance known as Pangalay. This “traditional” dance is said to have originated from Sulu islands located in the Philippines, and is said to have been created by the Tausug people. Apparently, this dance is said to be extremely similar to the classical Balinese and Thai dances. Furthermore, this dance also comprises of another version referred to as “Pakiring”. This dance style is supposedly based on pre-Islamic and Buddhist concepts related to male and female celestial agents.
“Fingernail dance”
is a very popular folk dance in the Philippines. It is said to have originated from Mindoro, the seventh-largest island in the Philippines. This dance of lights simulates fireflies at dusk and at night.
Pandanggo sa Ilaw
a Philippines folk dance form created by imitating the “movements of a duck” such as wading, flying, and short steps and splashing water on their backs like the ducks do.
Itik-Itik iPandanggo sa Ilaws
are dances of public entertainment usually performed in pairs in ballrooms, nightclubs, auditoriums or in public places. Examples are foxtrot, cha cha, boogie, tango, rhumba and waltz.
Ballroom Dances
is a smooth, progressivedancecharacterized by long, continuous flowing movements across the dance floor. It is danced tobig band(usually vocal) music. The dance is similar in its look towaltz, although therhythmis in a4/4time signatureinstead of3/4Developed in the 1910s, the foxtrot reached its height of popularity in the 1930s and remains practiced today.

is a dance of Cuban origin. It is danced to the music of the same name introduced by the Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrin in the early 1950s. This rhythm was developed from the danzón-mambo.

is a partner dance and social dance that originated in the 1880s along the Río de la Plata, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay.
Tango
ballroom dance of Afro-Cuban folk-dance origin that became internationally popular in the early 20th century. Best known for the dancers’ subtle side to side hip movements with the torso erect, the rumba is danced with abasic patternof two quick side steps and a slow forward step.
