A

The maximum capacity of a network channel to transmit data.
Represent the theoretical maximum data transfer rate

2
Q

Throughput

A

The actual data transfer rate achieved in practice. Considers factors like latency, packet loss and network congestion.

Q

Latency

A

the time delay between sending a data packet from the source to its arrival at the destination. Has an inverse relationship to throughput (Latency is up then throughput is down)

Q

Jitter

A

the variation in network latency over time causes irregular delays in data packet arrival. Affects quality of service (QoS) for real time applications

Q

Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR)

A

Measures the quality of a signal relative to background noise. It’s commonly used in wireless communication. Higher SNR indicates better signal quality and less interference.
