Why do performance appraisals and why are they important?
PA’s are a critical component of reinforcing appropriate behaviours, helps employees understand how to avoid inappropriate behaviours. Provides feedback to employees concerning their work and identifies areas that need improvement.
What is performance appraisal?
Is the systematic evaluation of employees performance. Once the appraisal is conducted, feedback can be given on any adjustments and ultimately, the organisations performance.
Four reinforcement strategies
Positive reinforcement
Negative
Punishment
Extinction
Performance strategy I would use.
I would use the Graphic Rating Scale. The rather checks the ranking that reflects the degree of the employee exhibits that behaviour.
The scale could be
- Unsatisfactory
- Below average
- Average
- Above average
- Outstanding
