What is performance in FS?
Discussing and critically judging a performance for its intended meaning based on what is happening in the frame and how it is directed and choreographed.
What is performance NOT?
It is not a judgement of the actors quality.
What are Argyle’s Body Codes (1972)? [give at least 5]

What is the improvisation approach?
A performance where most, if not all, of a scene is unplanned and is related by the performer
What is the method approach?
A range of training and rehearsal techniques that encourage sincere and emotionally expressive performances
What is Blocking?
How characters move through a scene / interact with their environment
What is staging?
Camera placement / relationship of movement with blocking
What is subtext?
The implied meaning of a character’s actions
