Performance Flashcards
Explain v2
V2: Takeoff Safety Speed
The speed you want to be at 35 feet, with your critical engine failed.
Explain TORA:
Takeoff Run Available: From standstill to rotation speed.
Explain TODA:
TAKEOFF DISTANCE AVAILABLE:
Takes your TORA, plus any runway remaining runway or Clearway beyond your TORA distance.
Explain ASDA:
ACCELERATE STOP DISTANCE AVAILABLE:
Runway needed to abort takeoff.
Explain STOPWAY:
It’s an area beyond the runway, which can support an airplane during an aborted takeoff. (Identified by large yellow chevrons.)
Clearway:
It’s an area beyond the runway. Clearway is part of the TODA and it’s purpose is to reduce the initial climb performance restrictions.
Explain 2nd segment climb:
At the point the Landing gear is retracted, Flaps are still in takeoff configuration until your at 400 feet.
Think of Vac to what other speed.
V2
Why do we set trim for takeoff (besides stick force).
It’s in a trim position to go to V2 in case of engine failure.
