Some work is pre recorded and projected onto the screen
The video projection…..
Includes time lapse photography
Shows the dancers getting older
Includes images suggesting time passing
What is perfect about?
Time- the way we witness time and how it shapes us
It’s about waiting, nurturing, growing ageing and changing
The costume
Simple and easy to wear
Both men wear white shirts and black trousers, all women wear black sleeveless dresses that are slightly different
The music
Electronic with no singing or speaking
The dancers add no sound
Music is split into clear sections which helps structure the dance
The lighting
Combination of lanterns and video projection. Lighting in the shadow section is very important- the dancer in front of the screen is lit by strange lanterns and the dancer behind is lit by a bright light so her shadow appears- the bright light is moved around so the shadow alters in size and position
