Perf Flashcards
What is basic weight?
Weight of empty ac with all basic equipment plus declared quantity of fuel and oil
What are the components of APS?
APS= basic weight + variable load
What makes up ZFW?
ZFW = payload + APS
Could water be clearway?
Yes. Must be obstacle free
What are the components of TODA?
Useable runway + clearway
What is TODA not to exceed?
1.5 x TORA
What is stopway?
Length of an unprepared surface at the end of rwy in the direction of TO that is capable of support an ac
What are the components of ASDA?
Useable rwy + stopway
What is a balanced field?
Where TODA = ASDA
What is VMCG?
Min control speed on the ground
Above this speed it is poss to maintain normal directional by use of rudder
How does screen height change for wet performance?
Screen height is reduced
What is VMBE?
Max speed on the ground from which a stop can be accomplished within the energy capabilities of the jet
Can v1 be greater than VMBE?
No. Ac weight must be reduced
What is Va?
Manoeuvring speed
What can be done if VMCG is limiting for the weight of the aircraft?
Used reduced thrust
What is the relationship between VMCG and V1?
VMCG has to be equal to or less than V1
What is min V2 with regard to Vs
Vs x 1.2
What is the relationship between V2 and VMCA?
V2 is normally equal to or greater than 1.1 x VMCA
What is V3 speed?
The all eng op takeoff climb speed that the aircraft will reach screen height
What is V4 speed?
The all eng op speed that the ac will reach at 400ft
How does humidity affect TO perf?
Increased humidity increases TODR. Humidity decreases air density.
How much head/tail wind should be used for TO perf?
Not more than 50% of reported HW
Not less than 150% of reported TW
What will runway downslope do to TODR?
ac will accelerate faster so TODR is reduced
What is WAT?
Weight, altitude and temperature
What do the WAT limits ensure?
That the ac’s MTOW is limited so that it meets second segment and missed app climb gradient perf with one eng inop
What guaranteed alt/height would you be able to achieve at MTOW WAT limited conditions?
1500ft or circuit height.
What is gross performance?
Average perf that a fleet of ac should achieve if flown using correct techniques
The ac should have a 50% chance of exceeding the gross perf
What is net perf?
Gross perf adjusted for errors
