What is society?
Society is the social process and structure of authority, institutions, relationships and practices through time and space
What is positivist social geography?
Social geography in a quantitative context; more focused on neutrality rather than qualitative phenomena
What is radical social geography?
Looking at problems; Radical social geography studied issues such as class divide and feminist geography, looked at the issues in social structures; explain what is happening and how to fix it.
What is post-modern social geography?
Focused on more social issues divides between groups such as gender, race and sexuality. Also looks into how these groups were constructed and how that affects their fluctuation.
What is humanistic geographies?
Expansive view of what people can do; Value, mental maps and psychology of space
What is the order of the social geographies?
LPRHP (La Geographie Humaine, positivist, radical, humanistic, post-modern)
What is “La Geographie Humaine”?
Focused on people, culture and landscapes; the beginning of social geography
