Palliative/ End of Life/ Terminal care
A
Palliative care aims to improve quality of life in life threatening condition or at end of life. It is multidisciplinary.
‘End-of-life-care’ is care of individuals in their last 12 months of life.
‘Terminal care’ - care of those in their last few weeks or days of life.

- Pain including bone pain
- Nausea & vomiting
- Breathlessness
- Increased respiratory secretions - death rattle
- Intractable cough
- Hiccups
- Itching
- Insomnia
- Depression
- Constipation
- Agitation
- Confusion
- Anorexia
- Malodorous fumigating tumour
- Seizures
- Capillary bleeding
