What is this a presentation of?
Leg length discrepancy, abdominal distension, loin bruising, perineal or scrotal haematoma, PV bleeding.
Pelvic fracture
What is this a presentation of?
Straddle injury on a bicycle, urinary retention, perineal haematoma, blood at the meatus.
Bulbar urethral rupture
What is this a presentation of?
Penile or perineal oedema/haematoma, high-riding prostate, pelvic fracture.
Membranous urethral rupture
How is a urethral injury investigated?
Ascending/retrograde urethrogram
What is the management for urethral injury?
Surgical placement of a suprapubic catheter
What is this a presentation of?
Haematuria/suprapubic pain, pelvic fracture, unable to void, cannot retrieve fluid used to irrigate bladder in Foley catheter.
Bladder injury
How is a bladder injury investigated and managed?
- IV urethrogram or cystogram
