Rectus Femoris
Quads-Extend the stifle and Flex the hip
O: Ilium, cranial to the acetabulum
I: Tibial tuberosity
N: Femoral nerve
Semimembranosus
Extend the hip; The part inserting on the tibia can flex or extend the stifle depending on position of limb
O: Ischiatic tuberosity
I: Distal medial femur and proximal end of tibia
N: Sciatic nerve
Semitendinosus
Extend the hip, flex the stifle, and extend the tarsus

I: Medial surface of body of tibia and tuber calcanei
N: Sciatic nerve
Gracilis
Adduct the limb, flex stifle, extend hip and tarsus
O: Pubic symphysis
I: Cranial border of tibia and tuber calcaneus w/ semitend
Tensor Fasciae Latae
Tense the femoral fascia, flex hip, extend stifle
O: Tuber coxae and adjacent ilium

Sartorius-2 heads
Flex hip (both heads), CRANIAL extend stifle, CAUDAL flex stifle
O: CRANIAL medial crest of ilium, CAUDAL cranial ventral iliac spine
I: CRANIAL patella w/ quads, CAUDAL cranial border of tibia w/ gracilis
N: Femoral nerve
Biceps femoris
Extend the hip, stifle, and tarsus
O: Sacrotuberous ligament and ischiatic tuberosity
I: By way of fascia lata, to patella, patellar ligament, and cranial border of tibia; by means of crural fascia the tuber calcanei
N: Sciatic nerve
Long Digital Extensor
Extend digits and flex tarsus

Deep Digital Flexor
Flex digits and extend tarsus
O: Plantar aspect of prox 2/3 of tibia and prox 1/2 of fibula
I: Plantar surface of base of each of distal phalanges
Cranial tibial
Flex tarsus and rotate dorsum of paw laterally
O: Lateral edge of cranial tibial border
I: Plantar surface of base of MTs 1 and 2 w/ Peroneus longus
Superficial Digital Flexor
Flex the prox 2 digital joints of the 4 principle digits, flex stifle, extend tarsus
O: Distal caudal femur
