What is Chi Square?
a statistical method assessing the goodness of fit between observed values and those expected theoretically.
What is a pedigree?
a genetic representation of a family tree that diagrams the inheritance of a trait or disease though several generations
What does consanguineous mean?
a union between two individuals who are related as second cousins or closer
How are twins represented in a pedigree?
Lines branching off to two individuals, an additional line connects the individuals if they are identical
What is the proband of a pedigree?
s a particular subject (person or animal) being studied or reported on
What is an autosomal gene?
the gene in question is located on one of the numbered, or non-sex, chromosomes
What is a sex-linked gene?
the gene in question is located on one of the sex chromosomes
