What is Plagiocephaly
It is a deformed skull. Incedent rates of Plagiocephaly correspond with the “back to sleep” program. Babies sleeping supine needs to be coupled with tummy time.
Describe the grasp reflex
strock a babies palm. They should grasp your finger firmly.
what is Craniosynostosis, what does it cause?
premature closing of the sutures between the cranial bones. It causes skull deformation.

Average annual height increase: 2- 3 inches between age 4 years of age and puberty

What is assesed with the moro reflex?
first, startle a baby and then look for symetrical abduction followed by adduction. If the movements are asymetric, it could be indicative of a neurological problem.
What is the Asymmetric tonic neck reflex
The Asymmetric tonic neck reflex, also called the fencing reflex, is a relex where a babies heah will turn to the side of their extended hand.

How do you check for the suck reflex?
with a gloved hand, stick a finger in and touch the roof of a babies mouth. Lack of a suck reflex can be indicative of a neurological problems.
