Pectoral girdle
Each pectoral girdle consists of a scapula and a clavicle. Its purpose is to support the upper limbs and serves as an attachment point for several muscles.
composed of 4 bones:
2 clavicles (collarbones)
2 scapula (shoulder blades)
Scalpula
Acromion process
bony process of the scapula.
Glenoid Cavity
Articulates with the head of the humerus.
Humerus
Long bone that extends from the scapula to the elbow.
Surgical Neck
Fractures that typically occur on the humerus.
Trochlear Notch
Trochlea
Olecranon process
Point of elbow.
Styloid process
Articulates with the bones of the wrist.
Clavicle
Sternoclavicular joint
Acromioclavicular joint
Ulna
goes to pinky. On the proximal end has a U shaped Trochlear notch.
Radius
Goes to thumb. shorter than ulna.
