- Introduction
- Rapport building
- Open body language
- Explain: Why they are here, what will happen, legal consequences and requirements, interview process
- Actively listen
- Do not give away information about the case

- Explain following steps and make sure they understand the legal requirements
- Thank witness for cooperation
- Provide them with victims card
