How is PCOS diagnosed
A
Rotterdam criteria
1) polycustuc ovarian morphology
- 12 or more follicles 2-9mm in size
- ovarian volume 10cm3
2) hyperandrogenism: clinical or biochemical
3) oligo/anovulation
Needs only 2 of the above

What are the risk of PCOS
A
- gestational diabetes 2x higher
- increased glucose intolerance and type 2 dm
- obstructive sleep apnea in obese women
- depression, anxiety, eating disorders, sexual dysfunction
- endometrial hyperplasia and cancer
- metabolic syndrome - Cardiovascular disease, dyslipidemia
