  • All those affected by sin are offered a new life in Christ
  • The ‘old man’ is to be put off, and the ‘new man’ is to be put on

How is this symbolized through baptism

A
  • One strips off to go in the water
  • One is washed
  • Is buried with Christ
  • Is raised with Christ
  • Is a new person when he emerges to live in a brand new existence
  • the putting off of this new man is ‘aorist’ point in time: non-the-less it is an ongoing command. Everyday it is to be off with the old and in with the new
