Patterned Ground Formation
A
Frost push propels stones upwards while frost heave causes stone to migrate outwards to form circles as a result of gravity, while finer sediments remains central.
As result of mass movement, stone polygons are elongated into stone nets and stripes, with clear relationship between slope angle and type of pattern ground.
