Patient History Taking And Assessment Flashcards
What is subjective assessment
This is the systemic gathering of data from the past and present in relation to why the patient is seeking services from the pt
Functional history has to do with?
Problems the patient feels in daily living activities
Subjective assessment consists of?
PAtients history and observation

Plan
Under neurological evaluation
Mental status ,motor system , reflexes , speech and language , gait and ambulation
What is the common visual reference point
Anatomical position
Saggital plane divides the body into
Left and right
Frontal plane
Posterior and anterior
Transverse or horizontal
Proximal and distal
What is axis of rotation
It is an imaginary line(point of rotation) that passes through a joint or the body to describe the movement
The three axis of rotation
- Horizontal ( medio-lateral) axis
- Anterior posterior acxis(sagittal)
- Longitudinal acxis(veritcal)
Types of contractions
- Isometric or static ( there is contractions but no visible joint movement occurs
- Isotonic contractions : they maintain constant tension in the muscle as the muscle changes length
- Concentric contractions : the muscle shorten while generating force
- Eccentric : elongation of muscle
In the muscle lever system during the first class lever what muscle is on the fulcrom( L F AF )
Splenius capitis and semispinalis capitis
In the second class lever( flaf)
The gastrocnemius is in the applied force area
