Briefly outline the main stages in the pathophysiology of Myocardial infarction (heart attack)

A

Heart attacks happen from the build-up of plaque through atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries of the heart.
These prevent blood flow from being normal and reduces the amount of oxygen to the heart. This results in a heart attack.

Myocardial= muscle of the heart 
Infarct= lack of oxygen to tissues
