- Catarrhal discharge
- Sneezing
- Scratchy, sore throat
- Thick, edematous, erythematous nasal mucosa

- Rhinovirus
- Adenovirus
- Echovirus

Pathogens causing tonsillitis
A
Usually caused by common cold viruses (adenovirus, rhinovirus, coronavirus).
Second most common cause: group A streptococci, S. pyogenes or S. aureus
