epilepsy
-chronic brain disorder characterized by recurrent seizures
syncope
- fainting
- sudden and temporary loss of consciousness caused by inadequate blood flow

-adema, respiratory distress, hypotension
AIDS
- acquired immunodeficiency syndrome
- from HIV virus
- from sexual contact, mom to baby, blood products, injection drug use
burns
1st degree: superficial lesions; epidermal
2nd degree: lesions, blisters; epidermal and dermal
3rd degree: tissue is destroyed, charred; only white subcutaneous tissue remains
vitiligo
-loss of pigment in areas of skin
vertigo
-sensation of dizzy motion either of oneself or external objects
myopia
- nearsightedness
- can see near, not far
