What is Emphysema?
A lung disease resulting in collapse of the aveoli due to damage to the walls of the alveoli
What is Pneumonia?
Inflammation of the lungs due to infection
What is COPD?
Chronic Onstructive Pulmonary Disease
What is Chronic Bronchitis?
Inflammation of the Bronchi
What is Asthma?
A condition that causes your airway to swell and narrow, reducing ventilation
What do coarse crackle indicate?
Obstruction in the proximal airways due to excess mucus
What does fine crackles indicate?
Derecruitment of the alveoli due to consolidation
What does Wheezing indicate?
Obstruction of the proximal airways
Define COPD
A heterogenous lung condition characterized by chronic respiratory symptoms (dyspnea, cough, sputum production or exacerbations) due to abnormalities of the airways (bronchitis/bronchiolitis) and/or alveoli (emphysema) that cause persistent, often progressive airflow obstruction.
