Touch
Blood
Describe measles (4)
Type of pathogen: Virus
Spread: Liquid droplets in air or on surfaces.
Implications: sick children, red eyes, high temperature, rash.
Damage: little damage, MMR.
Describe HIV (4)
Type of pathogen: Virus
Spread: unprotected sex, sharing needles, childbirth, infected blood.
Implications: attacks white blood cells, little immune response
Damage: AIDS
Describe TMV (4)
Type of pathogen: Virus
Spread: direct contact
Implications: reduced level of clorophyll
Damage: lower yield
Describe Salmonella (4)
Type of pathogen: Bacteria
Spread: infected foods
Implications: diarrhoea, stomach cramps, vomiting, fever.
Damage: dehydration
Describe gonorrhoea (4)
Type of pathogen: bacteria
Spread: contact with sexual fluids
Implications: thick green smelly discharge from penis or vagina. Pain when urinating, bleeding.
Damage: blindness
Describe rose black spot (4)
Type of pathogen: Fungus

Implications: large areas of discolouration
Damage: loss of vigour
Describe malaria (4)
Type of pathogen: Parasite
Spread: female mosquitoes
Implications: high fever, sweats + chills, headache, vomiting, chest pains, diarrhoea.
Damage: lethal
