13 RULES OF BASKETBALL:

RULE NO. 1: The ball can be thrown in any direction with one or both hands.

RULE NO. 2: The ball can be batted in any direction with one or both hands, but never with the fist.

RULE NO. 3: A player cannot run with the ball. The player must throw it from the spot on where he catches it.

RULE NO. 4: The ball must be held in or between hands. The arms or body must be used for holding it.

RULE NO. 5: No shouldering, holding, pushing, striking, or tripping an opponent.

RULE NO. 6: A foul is striking the ball with the fist.

RULE NO. 7: If a side makes three consecutive fouls, it counts as a goal for the opponents.

RULE NO. 8: A goal shall be made when the ball is thrown or batted from the ground into the basket and stays there.

RULE NO. 9: When the ball goes out of bounds, it shall be thrown into the field and played by the first person touching it.

RULE NO. 10: The umpire shall be the judge of the man and shall note the fouls and notify the referee when three consecutive fouls have been made.

RULE NO. 11: The referee shall be the judge of the ball and decide when it is on play in bounds, to which side it belongs, and shall keep the time.

RULE NO. 12: The time shall be two 15-minute halves with five-minute rest between.

RULE NO. 13: The side scoring the most goals in that time shall be declared the winner.

It is one good warm-up exercise for basketball. This is done by swiveling the hips while moving later all through about 20 meters. While swiveling to the right, the right leg is crossed over in front of the left leg. The left leg is then sidestepped across the right leg to get back to the starting position. For the second step, the right leg is crossed over behind the left leg and then the left leg is sidestepped across the night leg. This is done through the whole distance. On the way back, the right and left leg will switch positions.
