Section 1 - Patentability
A
Patents granted for inventions that are:
NEW
Have an INVENTIVE STEP
Are INDUSTRIALLY APPLICABLE
Are NOT EXCLUDED under SUBSECTION 2 or SECTION 4A (treatment/diagnosis)
At LEAST the following are excluded:
- Discoveries / Scientific Theories / Math. Methods
- LDM works and Aesthetic Creations
- Schemes / Rules / Methods of Performing Mental Acts / Playing Games / Doing Business
- Computer Programs
- Presentations of information
AS SUCH
Cannot be IMMORAL or contradict PUBLIC POLICY (NOT necessarily the same as ILLEGAL)
