What are the dangers of a marshy pasture?
pull shoe off, soft tissue injuries, disease
What are the dangers of wet ground?
predispose to scratches, rain rot, thrush; no spot to lay
What plant is a sign of a poorly drained pasture?
buttercups

break open poop & sun kills parasitic eggs & larvae; keep bathroom area minimized
What happens to the pasture if it is overgrazed & overcrowded?
poor/sick soil, no edible grass, parasites
Why is it good to mow pastures?
horses prefer to eat shorter grass, help strengthen grass, slow growth of weeds
