Erotomania (othello is delusion of sexual infidelity)
Discontinuation symptoms of SSRI?
Sweating, sleeping issues, dizziness
Which anti-psychotics cause acute dystonic reactions?
typical psychotics (i.e. haloperidol & chlorpromazine)
SSRIs: which drugs do they interact with?
Triptans & MAOIs (e.g. rasagiline) - increased risk of serotonin syndrome
Clozapine is used for treatment resistant schizophrenia; what are the adverse efects?
(ofc the agranuloctyosis) & reduces seizure threshold
Which benzo used for first line treatment of withdrawl?
Chlordiazepoxide
Which of the atypical antipsychotics have the best side effect profile?
Aripiprazole: particularly good esp for prolactin elevation
First line anti-craving alcohol medication?
Disulfiram: causes a buildup of acetyldehyde. Can be life threatening
After disulfiram, what might be used as anti-craving?
Acamprosate: works in combination with psychological support. Safer
Options for substitution in heroin addiction?
Methadone (or even better, the partial agonist,) buprenorphine

Functional neuro symptoms that can’t be explained - associated w/ stress/anxiety
not consciously feign symptoms (factitious) or seek gain (malingering)
What is circumstantiality in terms of a thought disorder?
Giving extreme, excesssive, unnecessary detail
What are the three main symptoms of depression?
Low mood, anhedonia, lack of energy
