Inflammation associated with thrombosis within a superficial vein, usually the long saphenous vein and its tributaries.

- Analgesia.
2. Graduated Compression Stockings (once arterial insufficiency is excluded).

DVT :
- 20% of SI cases have DVT.
- 3-4% progress to DVT if left untreated.
- DVT Risk is linked to length of vein affected.
- Have US to exclude DVT.
