- Prolonged pressure on particular area e.g. the sacrum.
- Skin breaks down.
- Combination of reduced blood supply, localised ischaemia, reduced lymph drainage, deformation of tissues under pressure.

- Regular Repositioning.

A
Soaps dry the wound. Hydrocolloid dressings and hydrogels facilitate ulcer healing.
