Not exceeding any specified speed and proceeding at a speed which takes account of conditions such as the distance you can see to be clear and that will allow you to stop the train short of any train, vehicle or other obstruction.
Can a signaller authorise you to pass another signal box’s signal at danger?
Not unless authorised within the sectional appendix
What are the 3 reasons for passing signals at danger due to defective equipment?
1) The signal is defective or disconnected so the signaller cannot clear the signal
2) The ERTMS equipment is defective or disconnected so a movement authority cannot be issued
3) Level crossing equipment has failed so the signal cannot be cleared or the movement authority cannot be issued. There is also no way to prove that the level crossing is clear.
