What happens after the IG has applied the compasses to the candidate?
Senior Deacon leads him left hand to right hand to the kneeling stool.
Stop one pace short.
Release hand.

Ensure he steps, cuts and gives entered apprentice sign.

WM-Let the candidate kneel while the blessing of heaven is invoked on what we are about to do.
SD ensures candidate kneels and gives sign of R.

Deacons hold wands in left hands, cross them over heads and give sign of R.
All stand with sign of R

Prayer
“So mote it be”
All drop sign of R
Deacons uncross wands and hold them

JD - moves stool clear to his left
SD the days?
Takes right hand in left
“Lead off with your left foot”
Leads candidate to North East part of the lodge.
Squares lodge.
End up in front of the WM pedestal, halt and release hand.

When at the Worshipful masters pedestal what does the Senior Deacon say?
“Salute the worshipful master as a mason”
Ensure candidate takes step gives entered apprentice sign and cuts it.

Senior Deacon takes candidate to South East corner squares lodge then heads to Junior Wardens pedestal and releases hand.
Then says what?
Stand off to one side and rest wand on shoulder. Ensure candidate takes step and gives enter apprentice sign and cuts it.
“Advance to the junior warden as such, showing the sign and communicating the token and word”

Junior warden to candidate;
“Have you anything to communicate?”
“I have”

Junior warden rises and offers right hand to candidate.
Senior deacon adjusts hand from above to entered apprentice grip (on first knuckle)

Junior warden to candidate whilst holding hand;
“What is this?”
“The grip or token of an entered apprentice Freemason”

Junior Warden to candidate, still holding hand;
“What does it demand?”

“Pass shibboleth”
Take candidates hand back.

Square the lodge at south west corner and end up in front of the Senior Warden. Step to side and rest wand on shoulder.
And say what?
“Salute the Senior Warden as a mason”
Step, entered apprentice sign and cut.
Get candidates hand again and lead to wheel round the north of the senior wardens pedestal to face the worshipful master.
Release hand

Worshipful master speaks “the brethren…properly prepared to be passed to the degree of a fellow craft”
What do you do next?
Takes candidates hand and leads him back to the worshipful master’s pedestal (squaring on route).
