Above 10k or cruise
“We have turned the seat belt sign off. You are free to move about the cabin as needed. While in your seat, please keep your seat belt fastened in the event we encounter any unexpected turbulence.”
Prior to starting descent
Ladies and gentlemen this is your First Officer. We are initiating our descent into xxx and are turning on the seatbelt sign. (Turn it on). Please return to your seats and keep your seatbelts fastened for the remainder of the flight. Xxx latest weather is partly cloudy skies with 10-15 mph winds out of the NE and 52 degrees. We anticipate some light turbulence associated with the light winds and should have you on the ground in about 11 minutes. Thank you for flying with us today and we hope to see you again soon.
IROP / Delay (when operational duties allow, a face-to-face passenger announcement is required)
“We have just been informed the weather at our destination has dropped below our landing minimum. The next weather update will be in _____ minutes. We apologize for the delay, but your safety is a priority for us. We appreciate your patience and will keep you up-to-date as information becomes available.”
When do you have to give a passenger announcement during IROP?
Within 5 minutes of learning of a delay, make initial announcement and make follow-up announcements every 15 minutes
Expedited Deplaning
“THIS IS THE CAPTAIN. WE WILL DEPLANE THE AIRPLANE THROUGH THE MAIN CABIN DOOR. FOLLOW THE DIRECTION OF YOUR FLIGHT ATTENDANT(S).”
Rejected T/O
“THIS IS THE CAPTAIN REMAIN SEATED WITH YOUR SEAT BELT FASTENED.”
Prior to MCD closure
“On behalf of myself captain Howes and first officer ____ we’d like to welcome you aboard flight ____, service to _____. Our flight time today is scheduled for ______, flying at an altitude of _____. The weather in _____ is forecast to be ______ at our time of arrival. You’ve already met ____ and ____ he/she/they is(are) your flight attendant(s).
