What is Performance Management
An ongoing process affecting organisational success by having employees work together with the managers to set expectations, review results and reward performance
What is Performance appraisal
A process of evaluating employee’s performance based on set standards and communicating that information to employees
Job analysis
Examines the tasks, duties, and reponsibilities related to a certain job title.
Job evaluation
Assessing the job’s worth to the organisation also helps with setting new ranges of pay.
Performance appraisals as administrative instruments
Used for:
1. compensation decisions
2. Staffing decisions
3. Performance feedback (Hamburger method)
4. Direction for future performance
5. Identifying future training and developmental needs.
