Adjective

Verb
Tells what action someone or something is doing. Can also express state of being.

Pronoun
Replaces a noun. Takes place of a person place or thing.
Ex. She, you
Article
‘A’, ‘an’ and ‘the’.
Ex. A dog, an apple, the bird
Adverb
Describes a verb. Tells how, when, where or to what degree.
Ex. Quickly, today, outside, barely
Preposition
Combines with a noun or pronoun to form a phrase that tells something about another word in the sentence.
Ex. From, to, until
Conjunction
Joins together single words or groups of words in a sentence.
Ex. And, but, or
Interjection
Expresses strong feelings or emotion. Can be a single word or a phrase.
Ex. Help!, Wow!,
Proper noun
A name used for an individual person, place or organisation
Eg. Jane, London
Abstract noun
Feelings or emotions.
Eg. Happiness, anger
Collective noun
A noun that counts a group of individuals.
Eg, family, pack, Crew
Common noun
A class of objects opposed to a particular individual
Singular noun
One of something
Plural noun

Eg. Group-groups
Concrete noun
Things you can experience with your five senses
Superlative adjective
Used to compare three or more things.
Comparative adjective
Used to compare differences between two objects
Eg. Bigger, faster, smaller
Subordinating conjunctions
A conjunction that introduced a subordinating clause
Eg. Although, because
Coordinating conjunctions
A conjunction placed between phrases, clauses or sentences of equal rank
Eg and, but, or
Correlating conjunctions
Connect two balanced clauses, phrases or words.
Eg. Neither, nor, only, but, also
