Definition of animal cell
Cells that animals are made up of. They contain many organelles that keep animals alive and allow them to reproduce.
Definition of cell membrane
A protective lipid bilayer surrounding each cell . the cell membrane regulates what leaves and enters the cell.
Definition of vesicle
Small sac-like structure that is created by the golgi apparatus. The vesicle stores and delivers nutrients and proteins. They also transport nutrients and proteins out side of the cell and they include vacuoles and lysosomes.
Definition of Cytoskeleton
The Cytoskeleton gives the cell its shape. The cytoskeleton pulls organisms like the vesicle to other parts of the cell.
Definition of endoplasmic reticulum
A network of sacs that manufacture, process, and transport chemical compounds used by the cell. The endoplasmic reticulum contains ribosomes which produce proteins. The proteins produced get released and transported throw the endoplasmic reticulum.
Definition of the golgi apparatus
A stack of membranes that modify and collect chemical compounds. The golgi apparatus packages compounds to either be exported or used in other parts of the cell.
Definition of the Lysosome
The lysosome are small vesicles that contain chemicals that help digest materials in the cell. Lysosomes also break down non functioning organelles. they are created by the golgi apparatus.
Definition of the vacuole
The vacuole is a type of vesicle that stores water, salts, carbohydrates, and proteins. They help remove waste from the cell.
What is the difference between the mitochondria and mitochondrion?
Mitochondrion is plural and mitochondria is singular

The power house of the cell that converts nutrients into energy that can be used. They contain there own DNA.

The nucleus is something that contains the cells DNA and regulates gene expression

A cell makes up all living organisms and is the smallest unit of life. The basic unit of life; the smallest unit considered living.
Definition of an organelle
A structure in a cell that performs specific jobs. Specialized structure that performs important cellular functions within a eukaryotic cell
Definition of a cell wall
A cell wall is a layer that surrounds the cell membrane. It protects and supports the cell.
Definition of a chloroplast
A chloroplast converts energy from the sun into chemical energy using photosynthesis
