what is a ‘party’
A
someone involved in the crime in any way. The punishment they receive is determined by their level of involvement

what is principal in the first degree
A
the principal offender, the person who is directly responsible for the crime and commits the act

what is principal in the second degree
A
the person assists others in the commission of a crime. They are present during crime (both physically or otherwise), but are not a main participant although they encouraged or assisted the offender

what is accessory before the fact
A
a person who has helped in planning or preparation before the act is carried out

A
a person who has assisted the principal after the act is carried out
