AMEL privileges
Can perform or supervise mx, preventative mx. Can RTS mx, preventative mx, and alterations.
A rating can determine serviceability of C items
C rating can determine serviceability of electrical items in an air-frame or engine system
AMEL limitations
Airplane specific endorsement
must understand data
to RTS - must have been active for six months or attend recurrent within last 24 months
May RTS 121.709, 135.709, 100 Hr, Annual inspections
Can work without an airplane specific endorsement IF they have previously done the same task under supervision for the same employer
Valid 3 years
AMEL renewal requirements
Attend human factors training
AND
perform at least 1 inspection or be active for 6 months.
Certificate of Maintenance Approval requirements
20 years old
read/write/speak/understand English in manuals
License is specific to a single employer
must attend an approved school plus six months experience
OR
12 months OJT
Privileges and limitations of Certificate of Maintenance Approval
Can perform/supervise/RTS mx, preventative mx, alterations of aircraft or components within the scope of the job description for the employer.
Valid 3 years
CMA renewal requirements

Validation of Foreign License
Hold equivalent license in ICAO state

pass written exam
pass oral and practical test for category or rating
be employed by Indonesian certificate holder

Endorsement of Aircraft rating requirements
complete approved type specific training within last 24 months
6 months documented experience on aircraft type (3 for additional types)
OR
Complete company training
12 months experience (6 for additional type)
pass written test within previous 24 months
Group 2 sub-group rating
granted when engineer adds 2 type ratings from the same manufacturer representative of the sup group
OR
three type ratings from different manufactuers
Group 3 sub-group ratings
A License requires 2 types from different manufacturers
C license requires 1 type rating
pressurized aircraft require additional endorsement
