Part 5 - Research, Objectives, and Evaluation Flashcards
1
Q
what are the five different types of probability sampling?
A
cluster sampling - surveying a group with shared characteristics
simple random sampling - equal chance
quota sampling - specific group “every female over 65 in bham”
systematic sampling - every 25th person
census sampling - designate area - survey all in that area
2
Q
what is qualitative research? how would you use it?
A
informal, non scientific research like focus groups, one on ones, gets general info
3
Q
what is quantitative research? how would you use it?
A
formal research, scientific and specific
gets hard data, real results (telephone pollz)
4
Q
what are the 6 sources of error in evaluation?
A
- samples must be representative
- estimate is not measurement
- volume doesn’t equal results
- effort doesn’t equal knowledge
- knowledge doesn’t equal favorable attitude
- favorable attitude doesn’t equal behavior
