Ivy Lee Ledbetter - created the press release, wrote the “declaration of principles”
4 important things about this dude:
1) importance of public interest 2) management support 3) open communication with media 4) humanize business
Edward Bernays - bacon & lucky strike. had two functions: 1) interpret the client to the public (promoting the client) 2) interpret the public to the client (gain approval of the public)

Information - issue info that will make the public sympathize with your org. publicity agent approach
Mutual influence and understanding - provide info, make decision and take action. public relations counsel
