Huo Luo Xiao Ling Wan (Miraculously Effective Collateral Regulating Pill) *
Actions: Invigorates circulation of qi & blood, disperses stagnant blood, alleviates swelling, stops pain
Indications: blood stagnation type pain, abdominal, chest, peripheral pain, fixed masses, purple skin lesions, painful sores
Yunnan Baiyao (White Powder from Yun Nan Province) *
Actions: stops bleeding, quickens blood, disperses stagnant blood
Indications:
- All types of bleeding. An important first aid remedy and can be applied topically or taken internally.
- Localized bruising & pain from trauma (damage of ligaments, tendons, etc.
- Skin infection: abscesses, boils, carbuncles, ulcers
Juan Bi Wan (Remove Painful Obstruction Pills) *
Actions: dispels wind cold damp, warms & unblocks the channels & collaterals, stops pain
Indications: wind cold damp bi syndrome at early stage, in relatively robust patient w/ little def. Pain & stiffness are intermittent, and mild. Worse w/changes of weather (cold, wet or humid) and lack of activity. Better w/heat and mvmt
Xiao Huo Luo Dan (Smaller Invigorate the Channel Special Pills) *
Actions: powerfully warms & dispels cold, dries damp, transforms phlegm, disperse stagnant blood, unblocks the channels & collaterals, stops pain
Indications:
- chronic cold damp bi syndrome, severe, fixed, stabbing pain & stiffness, worse w/ cold, no heat signs
- sequele of stroke, wei syndrome, numbness, loss of function in the extremities. Only suitable for patient w/a robust constitution
Xuan Bi Tang Wan (Drain Away Obstruction Pills) *
Actions: clears damp heat from the joints, unblocks the channels & collaterals, promotes urination, stops pain
Indications: heat or damp heat bi syndrome (heat, swelling, redness, pain). It can be acute, or an acute flare-up a chronic, or chronic disorders.
Shu Jin Huo Xue Wan (Soothe the Tendons and Invigorate Blood Pills) *
Actions: dispels wind damp, invigorates qi & quickens blood, unblocks the channels & collaterals, transforms phlegm, stops pain
Indications: wind cold damp bi syndrome w/qi, blood, & phlegm stagnation in the channels causing joint & muscle pain, spasm, paresthesia
*predominately for excess patterns w/little def. Main focus is on lower body, but can be used for pain in any location.
Shen Tong Zhu Yu Wan (Remove Stagnant Blood from a Painful Body Pills) *
Actions: invigorates the circulation of qi & blood, breaks up & disperses stagnant blood, unblocks the channels & collaterals, stops pain
Indications: chronic bi syndrome w/blood stagnation. Severe and persistent joint or muscular pain. It can be caused by long standing wind cold damp bi syndrome or trauma w/blood stagnation.
Da Huo Luo Dan (Great Invigorate the Channels Special Pills) *
Actions: dispels wind cold damp, eases the tendons, stops pain, supplements qi & blood
Indications:
- wind cold damp bi syndrome w/KD, qi & blood def.
- sequelea of stroke causing hemiplegia, facial paralysis
San Bi Wan (Three Obstructions Decoctions Pill) *
Actions: supplements qi & blood, strengthens the LV & KD, warms the yang, dispels wind damp, stops pain
Indications: wind damp bi syndrome w/KD qi & yang & LV blood def. (esp. good for lower body)
*slightly more supplement qi than Du Huo Ji Sheng Wan
Du Huo Ji Sheng Wan (Angelica Pubescens & Viscum coloratum Pills) *
Actions: dispels wind damp, supplements qi & blood, strengthens LV & KD, warms yang, stops pain
Indications: wind cold damp bi syndrome w/KD qi & yang & LV blood def (esp. good for lower body)
*slightly more dispersing then San Bi Wan
Kang Gu Zeng Sheng Pian (Inhibit Bony Proliferation Pills) *
Actions: strengthens LV & KD, strengthens tendons & bone, invigorates qi & quickens blood, stops pain
Indications: Proliferation bone disorders
Tian Ma Tou Tong Capsule (Gastrodia Headache Pills) *
Actions: dispels wind damp, extinguishes internal wind, restrains LV yang
Indications: h/a due to wind cold, LV yang rising, LV wind, mild blood stagnation, dizziness/vertigo yang rising
Yan Hu Suo Zhi Tong Wan (Corydalis turtschaninovii Pills) *
Actions: invigorates qi, quickens blood, stops pain
Indications: all type of pain w/qi & blood stagnation (best for HT & LV organs & channels
Shao Yao Gan Cao Wan (Peony & Licorice Pills) *
Actions: softens LV, benefits yin, eases cramps, stops pain
Indications: pain associated w/spasm & cramping of smooth & skeletal muscles from LV yin or blood def. failing to moisten & nourish the tendons
Zheng Gu Shui (Correct Bone Water) *
Actions: quickens blood, disperses stagnant blood, stops pain, promotes healing
Indications:
- all types of traumatic injury, significantly reduces recovery time for all types of closed trauma: bruises, sprains, simple fractures
